Wow What an event! As promised ProE85 hit Lucas Oil Raceway park and delivered huge burnouts, tight competition, and the wheelies of stratospheric proportions.
The Friday night qualifying session was highlighted by the "Crusher" Waldrop and "the Hammer" Penrod with a great wheelstands. The Saturday/Sunday wheelie show was captured by "GetDusted" Clark and "PumpGas" Carr with bumper dragging action for a minimum of 300' each.
Da Pumpkin Maatman was reported by multiple people as 'doing a wheelie coming out of the burnout'. Frankie Radke, tough open comp racer from the St.Louis area, stated "I have been racing 35 years and have NEVER seen that!!!"
Ray Cox was quoted as saying "everybody's presentations were awesome. These guys all have clean cars and show that they care for what they are doing." Also reported was an unamed track official stating "these cars are really cool".
Great job ProE85 competitors, and congrats to "MrNOSZ" Keller for winning the Ignite Fuels ProE85 event presented by NMCA! "GetDusted" Clark topped his wheelie escapade with a runner up finish to Keller!
Indy sure took its toll on quite a few cars. Oil pan gaskets, engine blocks, u-joints,and dog-houses are just a few examples of the rare ProE85 carnage, but that is how hard all these guys were trying to put on a great show for the sponsors, track, and fans!
ProE85 cant wait to race again at LORP!!!
