I pulled my motor out because I thought I had burnt some pistons. pulled the head off the left side and all four pistons where no longer at zero deck height they were around 100 under the deck. right side is fine. left side rods bent. pistons look fine. I was running eagle I beam 6 inch rods Now going to H beams .It did push the head gasket out on both sides but did not get coolant into the cylinders. I am only spraying 300 on a plate. Just thought I would see if anyone has had something like this before.

the eagle I beam rod will not live with a 300 hit the H beams should live but I would step up to a better rod.

Finally had time to grind on the block to make the new rods fit and reassembled engine, made some little drives around town . So I am ready for the 10th .I guess I will find the next weakest link.

Ehhh. You'd be very surpirsed at what hte Eagle H-beam will really hold. I've personally made over 1000hp with them on a sb. I've known a few guys who have ran them up to 1500hp. None of which were very high rpm motors though.
