Now that I have taken a day to digest Duanes recap he told me about saturday night I have to say I think the rules changes are almost all for the better. This look like it will be fun as hell!
The only thing I ask from ALL YOU guys and gals is to make every attempt for these cars to be as "presentable" (subjective I know) as possible. Make some attempt to have some sort of interior. That way when the fans come out to the pits they have nooooo roblem distinguishing these cars from the bracket cars out there. Whether you think it does or not, it does make a difference when you walk up to a car that LOOKS like somethign heavy from the streets runnign htese numebrs and hanging th ehoops, rather than some stripped down al glass, lexan windowed vehicle doign the same. Its just not as impressive.
I MYSELF totally disagree withthe lexan rule, but I am going to swallow that so long as it looks factory. my problem with this stuff is that it going to be harder for me to compete against lightweight cars...plain and simple. Yes there is an index and I understand that is the controlling factor, but the original premise of this class (and its not totally gone) is the show. The index should nto be easy to hit for the biggest percentage of entrants. This class was originated around the OSS going too far and these rules are already heading that way.
Please understand I am not complainning or bitching. Ill be there to race (pending nothing bad happens in testing). I am supporting this class, but I think its fr enough out there now that is has deviated form what got me and other so excited about it. As it sit now you can enter a bracket car tthat has had the stickers removed, quality installed 'glass, quality installed lexan, and headlights.
Now, do I think this will be the mainstay of the cars? Absolutley not, but the possibility is there.
I also understand the concern abotu car count. Judging from the interest here and at the meetings, I do not think that is even a factor! Heck just between the three of us southerners and Duane thats half the required field for the 16th race.
Anyway, the root to this post was mainly just to emplore everyone to understand, the appearance of these cars as as important , if not MORE, than the ET they run. Whether ont he track or int the pits. We could all run 9.50 and if they look like heavy as "street" cars then it will be just as cool as them running 8.90. If they look like RACE cars then even if they run 7's its just not as "cool". yea its impressive, but not "cool".
This IS going to be one hell of a god class and a good time!!!!!
Dont flame me, I just want the class to be as cool as possible. Its more about the car's persona and the driver's, not necessarily the ET . If it was based around that, there would be no index and we would all be running with the OSS or some outlaw class.

Well we were not planning on it. We are/were planning on hitting the 1320 and doing some testing, but the forecast is not looking too condusive for it. But we are still a couple days away. Heck last weekend up untill friday they forcasted rain all day saturday. It was clear all weekend. However the temp forecast isnt too great either.
I doubt we make it, but vote for me my way on anything....lol. Make sure to give a bunch of shit too!!! Dont want anyone missing me. It was well worth the drive the first time. Just wish we'd been there for the rulz one. Oh well.
We need SHIRTS soon, a new baner like the logo Duane posted from PK. I never did find my points setup, but basically what I did was made sure the guy who showed up to every race, qualified decent, not great, lost first round, had a chance at wining the points over the guy who showed up to 3/6 and won all three. I support the show up points HEAVILY, and the bonus for entering all races. Now as far as value, well that depends on how the rest of the points system works.
Heck rob NHRA's, throw some bonuses in, and let it fly. Somn else you COULD do is get the crowd into it. Let them pick best wheelie/burnout/purge/appearing/interior (ok that one was a shot..lol) or somn and that person gets a points bonus on top of anythign else. Somn like this would go over well with the fans. WE WILL HAVE FANS! They will cheer LOUD if the announcer helps get it going. He/she makes a biiiiiig difference in the show as well.
Wow that was a looooooong answer to a simple question....jeesh.
